Take control of a quad bike and set off into rough terrain. You'll scramble across open fields and woodland tracks, splash through water pools and tackle steep slopes. Oh, and you might get a bit wet, but that's part of the appeal, right? You'll begin with a thorough safety briefing, then get into your protective clothing and have an introduction to the quad bike. You'll warm up with some training on level ground around a marked circuit to master basic quad handling and gain some confidence. Then you'll head off on a quad safari, typically covering around ten miles, at speeds of up to 50mph. Fear not, an experienced instructor will keep a watchful eye on anyone about to frog leap the handle bars. The time ends with a debrief and hose-down. The bikes are usually Honda 250ESs - a utility machine with five forward gears operated by electric thumb shift - or Sportrax 90s - smaller, sports-tuned quads. |
